The photovoltaic system is getting wide application In the development of photovoltaic equipment, if true photovoltaic array is used to experimental, which is susceptible to the sunlight intensity and surroundingstemperature, the cost of photovoltaic array experiments is too high and the cycle of research anddevelopment becomes too long. In order to develop photovoltaic system with good performance which adapts in any conditions, a device must be provided in test development process, which can simulate the solar cells output characteristic in any conditions instead of the actual solar array. Photovoltaic array emulator can solve this Problem.Power electronic cascade systems are complex system consisting of different types of power electronics converter. With negative impedance characteristic, constant power load is the main reason of Electronic Cascaded System instability. Load with negative impedance characteristic can affect power supply quality and system stability, which is one object of simulation.Firstly, the thesis shows the exploitation and utilization of solar energy, the photovoltaic system and photovoltaic array simulator, then introduces Electronic Cascaded System and constant power load, based on this, the thesis introduces the research conducted home and abroad on. Meanwhile, this thesis introduces the principle of solar cell, shows the equivalent circuit model and the mathematic model of solar cell, which is the base of the simulator.The next part is an introduction of the operational principle and the basic configuration of the PV emulator. Based on the comparison and analysis of the performance and cost of several typical topologies of the emulator, the topological structure to be adopted by the thesis is decided, and its hardware design is introduced. Then emulates the simulator based on Matlab/Simulink software, and show the simulation results. The thesis includes the control system analysis of the emulator. The stability and the dynamic performance is acquired according to related control theory, and the better static and dynamic performance is validated.This thesis designed hardware of control circuit under the control of STM32F103VBT6 models ARM chip and software system, and hardware debug was impleted. In the end, output waveforms of constant power load and photovoltaic array simulation in different quiescent point and dynamic response experiment was showed. Experimental result validates the feasible of design methed in this thesis.
