In recent years, as people's living standards improved, the demand for tourism tends to be multifarious and venturesome. On this account, a kind of sightseeing mini-submarine powered by compressed air has been developed. Based on the submarine, a set of hydraulic system has been designed and studied.The main function of the hydraulic system includes the control of vertical rudder and horizontal rudder, the manipulation of valves which belong to the submerging and surfacing system, and the trim regulating of the submarine. The design and study of the hydraulic system has been conducted as follows:Firstly, the force condition analysis of the rudder gear has been conducted, and a set of steering hydraulic system has been designed, the system realizes both the functions of hand (emergency) steering and wheel steering. As to hand steering, the simulation model has been established and researched into to study the response of main parameters of rudder gear based on MATLAB/Simscape. The performance of the hand steering system has been analyzed and improvements have been taken. As to wheel steering, the simulation model has been built and the performance of the wheel steering system has been analyzed based on MATLAB/Simulink. By applying and adjusting the PID controller, system performance has been improved.Secondly, the structure of sea valve and breather valve has been designed, and a set of valve hydraulic transmission system circuit has been designed after the analysis of force condition. The simulation model of the system has been established based on Simscape. Through simulating the working situation, time response of the valve action and force condition of the piston rod have been revealed. After analyzing the system performance, finite element analysis has been taken on key components of the values to check their intensity and rigidity.Thirdly, mathematic model has been built on trim movement of the submarine, and a set of hydraulic system with a hydraulic pump sending mercury to regulate the trim of the submarine has been designed. The control of the system has been achieved by using PID Trim Controller. The simulation model has been built based on Simulink. System response characteristics have been studied and improvements have been taken.At last, overall design of the sightseeing mini-submarine's hydraulic system has been conducted.The design and simulation of the sightseeing mini-submarine's hydraulic system have been completed finally. Simulation results show that the hydraulic system designed has fully achieved pre-given functional requirements, and it can be applied to the submarine platform.
