With the continuous development of human society, the demand of resource of humans isbigger and bigger. The energy problem is becoming more and more serious, the traditionalland energy can’t meet the huge demand brought about by the social development any more.The paces of human are taken from the land toward the sea gradually. But in the related fieldof marine engineering technology, our country has a big gap with the foreign developedcountries. Especially the undersea pipeline laying machines and related technology ofunderwater hydraulic system is still relatively behindhand. Our Research Group has anin-depth research on the submarine plough based on the national natural science foundationproject “Research on Trenching Technology and Equipment for Hard Clay”. The goal of thispaper mainly is to design the hydraulic system of the submarine plough and have anexperimental research on it, and to have a research on the underwater hydraulic systemcompensation technology and design a new type of compensation unit. This paper provides areference for the hydraulic system research and manufacture of the submarine plough.Firstly, the paper puts forward the underwater hydraulic system design requirements ofthe submarine plough according the performance requirements and the working environmentof submarine plough, and determines the parts of the system, includes: hydraulic power unit,hydraulic function circuits, valves and pipes integration solutions and hydraulic emergencyplans.This paper designs the skid lifting hydraulic circuit detailed and has a simulationresearch on performance of it, include mechanical modeling and analysis, calculating themining reaction with Rankine theory, the kinematics analysis of skid lifting structure, whichprovides a basis for the control system and hydraulic cylinder selection. Then it designs thehydraulic circuit principle diagram and selects the main components. And the simulationanalysis of the circuit performance is done by the AMEsim software.Then the paper researches the compensation technology of the underwater hydraulicsystem. And the static performance analysis of existing compensator products is done. Then anew compensation unit is designed according to the submarine plough features. Thiscompensation unit has active and passive work modes, and the active work mode cancomplete the pressure compensation of the hydraulic system with a constant compensationpressure margin, and can also realize the large volume compensation. And it verifys theperformance of the compensation unit through the simulation analysis.Finally, the paper has a experiment research of the submarine plough hydraulic system.The experiment mainly includes two aspects: verifying the performance of each hydraulic function circuit and optimizing the design though the prototype land experiment, verifying theunderwater hydraulic system design scheme and pressure and volume compensationperformance of the compensator through the underwater power unit experiment.
