Our country has numerous rivers, these rivers brought a great quantity of sediment into the sea every year .Sediment transport under the coexisting action of currents and waves etc ocean power, the transport of sediment may occur siltation in the harbor basin and navigation channels .Siltation affecting the normal operation of port and channels. So construction port in coastal and estuarine region, sediment problem should not be neglected and must consider the question. At present in China after the excellent coastlines were basic developed and natural deep water of harbor are small, in the rest of the coastlines, most coastlines are silt coast. The study of siltation in the harbor basin and navigation channels of silt coast was instructive and meaningful to the selection of harbor-site and channel plans.In consideration of sediment problems complexity, incomplete understanding of sediment movement mechanism either hydrodynamic force or sediment characteristic, people study the sediment problem by the means of combining theories with experiences, then different scholars will get different results on some aspects of the theory of sediment movement. Based on the specific engineering project, this paper using different methods to study sediment deposition of Dongjiang harbor in Tianjin port. Article is divided into four parts: First, the characteristics of the silt coast briefly introduced, and analysis the project area's natural conditions. Then according to the analyzed natural conditions, the means of physical and mathematical models were used to study siltation of the project. Research the siltation of different part in the harbor, physical and mathematical models test results are compared and analyzed, Parametric Estimating was used to deposition calculation. The results show that the sediment concentration is corresponds to sediment deposition distribution; the overall silting situation is the location that the closer to the entrance of harbor the more serious silting, the same to the artificial beach different locations siltation. Experiment showed the relationship of different elevation location and siltation conditions of artificial beach by the same vertical section. The results of this study and artificial provide a reference basis for harbor dredging and artificial beach maintenance.
