As we all known, generator and control system is a typical nonlinear system, which has a lot of characteristics as nonlinear, coupling, delay and so on. However, such questions have always been a hot spot of control research, where the presence of saturated areas has a serious impact on the transient stability. From the perspective of automatic control, control the generator to make it highly efficient and stable operation, is directly related to the stable operation of the entire region. Generator excitation control system for which there is saturation problems were studied and the anti-saturation design, improved control theory in engineering. In this paper, transient stability and small signal stability of the two areas to study saturated the system of compensation design. Exist for saturated excitation part of the problem, according to the known controller, the use of robust control LMI anti-windup compensator designed to decrease saturation. The overshoot of stable controller in the generator excitation control often enables its actuator to go into the strong nonlinear area, and which will lead to effecting control performance of stable controller. The paper uses robust control as a actual case, and reveals that, under the strong interference, the better the performance index of controller is, the more accessibly the control system goes into overshoot state. So, in this paper, gain matrix and anti-saturation theory are used to design stable controller, which includes compensation and anti-windup taches. By solving linear matrix inequality, the gain matrix of compensation tache is obtained. When the stable controller is beyond the adjustment range, it is amended by compensation tache. At last, the simulation results show that the new controller has excellent stability and control performance during disturbance. In the small signal stability, the system is stable and low-frequency oscillations of the inhibitory control played a crucial role. When saturation occurs, the stabilizer will be played by the inhibitory effect of reduced feedback gain matrix at this time through the anti-saturation control method, the saturation extent of the problem reflected to adjust the control part of the amount of compensation, the compensation design process matrix can be met through several linear matrix inequality constraints. Simulation results show that the use of anti-saturation part of the compensation theory of excitation of moderate compensation improved the extent of saturation, allowing greater stability in the controller domain of attraction.
