Arch-pylon composite bridge which is unique among landscape bridges is a kind of the latest type of cable-stayed arch bridge, currently there is no precedent. It not only combines the traditional cable-stayed bridge with the arch of the mechanical characteristics, and arch rib and the pylon is no longer their own separate individual, but connected into a common overall structure of the force. It forms a unique structure to meet the aesthetic requirements of the bridge, also brought along the complex structure of the force on the issue, so the arch- pylon composite bridge for a full-bridge simulation analysis, local component simulation analysis and this bridge type with ordinary type difference analysis, which plays a significant role in the rationality of the design of arch-tower composite bridge and the safety of the stage of construction and operation.Based on preliminary design scheme of a landscape bridge in Dalian, an arch- pylon composite bridge, which is planed to build, the author simulates all kinds of structural members, such as girders, pylons, cable anchorage and other structural members, and builds up the integrated finite element model of the entire bridge by Midas/Civil 2010, a large-scale FE software. On the basis of finite element model, firstly, the structure behaviors under loads of completed bridge stage and operation state are calculated and especially analyzed the effects of dead loads, vehicle live loads, temperature changes, support deformation effect and their combinations.Then taking into consideration the problems arising in the process of building the arch-pylon composite bridge simulation model and finite element analysis, the paper discusses the point of this type bridge and model accuracy of the type bridge.Because of arch-pylon combination is the most obvious and important part of the arch-pylon composite bridge, the paper builds simple single arch-pylon composite structure, and discuss the different mechanical properties of arch-pylon composite structure by different shapes and sizes of sectional profiles.Because of the foundation of arch rib or inclined pylon there may be an eccentric tension-compression load, the paper builds the pile, the soil and the raft co-action finite element model, respectively discussing rock-socketed pile and friction pile the two cases of pile foundation optimization method.Through the above analysis research, the mechanics behavior and analyzing method of this kind of bridge were comprehensively understood.
