PCMM (Parallel Coordinates Measuring Machine) has many advantages:high agility and commonality, high precision and efficiency, better capability and so on, PCMM is widely used in mechanical domain. After the research of rigid-flexible coupling dynamic analysis on PCMM, the dynamic capability of PCMM can be evaluated and the structure of PCMM can be optimized.Rigid model of 5-DOF 4-UPS-UPU PCMM is built in ADAMS at first, rigid driving limbs of PCMM are replaced for flexible driving limbs produced in ANSYS, and the rigid-flexible coupling model is built. After the rigid-flexible coupling dynamic analysis on the PCMM, dynamic stress of driving limbs, kinematics error outputs (displacement, velocity and acceleration error outputs) of probe, and base frequency of working process are got.The influencing regulations of the moveable platform mass and the driving limbs diameter to dynamic stress and kinematics error outputs are researched respectively. On the basis of regulations, moveable platform and driving limbs are optimized. The effect of dynamic optimum design is researched by the dynamic analysis on the optimized model of PCMM.
