TCA2003 total station is the measurement robot with high precision, high efficiency and getting accurate and relible data, which came into existence in recent years. In view of these advantages and its ATR automatic target recognition, the instrument with GEOCOM secondary development tool provided by Leica company can be used in the decelopment of automatic deformation monitoring system with automatic, high efficiency and accuracy in the compiler enviroment of Visual Basic 6.0, which will be a very meaningful work.This Topic mainly optimizes the system In-depth and detailed based on the automatic monitoring module. In software development, the software's functional requirements are perfected, and the four main modules:project management, data processing, prediction analysis and results output are added, beside, the procedure of automatic target searching and automatic target positioning when learning measurement is going are developed, which can make learning measurement going without staffs. For the inadequacies of automatic monitoring module, for example, the system can not give tips and take appropriate actions when the difference between measuring-processes is out of range or the difference between cycles is very great and so on, the procedure is developed. Because the system involves a lot of data types, the database structure is detailed designed. In data processing, according to the features of getting data, a few of methods for gross error detection are discussed, compared and selected in this article, and facing different situations, multiple differential method and least squares Helmert coordinate transformation method are used to correct the observed values in order to improve data accuracy of the deformation points; In addition, the article describes the method of least squares Helmert coordinate transformation for getting data in the condition of instability station, discusses the data interpolation method in the condition which some data can not be obtained; The deformation prediction model-multiple linear regression model and the GM (1,1) grey model are be studied and their accuracy has been analyzed and verified using tunnel deformation data; Through the experiments, the system has been proved that it can obtain the deformation values with being efficient, accurate and real-time, and can completed tunnel automatic deformation monitoring measurement tasks under no one controlling, which is of great significance for tunnel deformation monitoring work that lasts for a long time and has strong repeatability, and the observing condition of which is bad.
