In the history of rock mechanics development, the research such as geostress measurement and stress field simulation has always been in an important position. Because of various factors, geostress can't be measured in a large quantities, and the results are also discrete to a certain degree. Based on measured data, corresponding numerical stimulation is used to invert the initial geostress field in this paper.Firstly, the author summarized the actuality of back analysis of initial geostress field, taking relative datums from both home and abroad. After that, it put forward the research emphases, ideas and methods. Then, this paper studied the initial geostress distribution of a mine model without geological structure in it. Ignoring complex geological structures such as faults and folds in this area, it used FLAC3D numerical simulation software to calculate the initial geostress field. Then based on measured geostress data, it adjusted the simulation results, got a more accurate geostress field.Furthermore, this paper analyzed local tectonic stress distribution rule on the microcosmic level. It simulated local tectonic stress fields of faults and folds in this area, got the stress distribution rule and stress variation curve of coal seam roof. Finally, this paper used a method of function regression analysis to fit the simulation results of stress with no geological structure and got the initial geostress calculation formula of the whole area. After that, it integrated the two stress fields, the stress field with no geological structure and the local tectonic stress field, gained a detailed, accurate geostress distribution rule of the whole mining area. Eventually, complete stress isoline and stress vector projection of coal seam roof came forth. In the end, main ideas of this paper are concluded by the author, furthermore, some questions for future studies are put forward.
