The working principle of automobile wheel crack detection platform has been analyzed. The structure, control system and pneumatic system of the detection platform have been designed. The platform effectively combines machine, electricity and pneumatic technology. Now, it has achived good results in the wheel crack detection and will be helpful to the development of other similar platform.By using the technology of PLC, pneumatic and detection, the platform improves the automation degree of the workpiece detection. It possesses the following characteristics:1) PLC control system can achieve stably various kinds of functions for platform and complete intelligent detection; 2) The platform can proceed the crack detection of rotating parts with high precision; 3) The platform sets the marking device and waste channels to prevent the failure of wrong position; 4) The platform uses universal signal processor to connect various sensor probe; 5) The platform uses frequency control system to get high accuracy of motion with power saving.
