With the speeding up of the development of society,vehicules are faced with a major challenge of energy shortage and environmental pollution, and hence alternative fuels are becoming very important. Among many alternative fuels,the biogas is renewable source of rich resource, inexpensive price, safe inflammation and clean emission. however, many biogas engines currently common used which were short of power, high of gas consumption and had a problem of bad exhaust emissions, because of that they were modified from oil/diesel engine. So, aiming at this problem, the paper takes DLH1110 engine as reference object, focusing on controlling principles and method of biogas engine.In the paper,in order to validatethe best control method's performances, the hardware in the loop of experimental platform was developed, meanwhile, the simulations and experiments about the control method were done and its controlling performance was discussed.Firstly, the paper introduces the related current researches, application status and develo- ping trend of biogas engine; according to the principle of internal combustion engine and combustion learn, the mathematic models of biogas engine were setup and the influences of biogas components, compression ratio, igniton timing and biogasmixture concentration to engine's performance were analysed, based on that the three different fuel injection combining igniton control methods were researched; then the controlling system which including hardware circuit and software program of electronic control unitwas designed; thirdly, the simulation models of biogas engine and the fuel injection combining igniton controller were setup through GT-power and simulink, under the inputs of throttle acceleration and deceleration driving cycle, the comparative simulation analyses between the engine with three fuel injection combining igniton control methods and the best control method was gotten; in order to validate the best effectiveness of the combining control method, the hardware in loop simulation expermental platform of biogas engine was structured, the platform which was linked by LabVIEW and NI DAQ makes the simulation models and the electronic control unit synchronously works; after that, the hardware in loop experiments were done and analysed.Finally, the paper summmarizes the all works researched above and puts forward some precious proposals for the future research.
