Balanced flow meter(BFM) is a kind of new flow meter with high performance, and it has been widely used in modern industrial production. It is necessary to calibrate the flow meter which is just produced before putting into use, but there is no water flow auto-calibration system based on BFM in China. So we cooperate with a company of Shanghai KeyonTechs, and design such a calibration system after analyzing and summarizing other flow meter calibration standards and calibration systems at home and abroad.In hardware, the system uses frequency control technology to control the flow rate of system, and then it can improve the accuracy of calibration. In software, the system uses the computer language of Visual Basic to design the software system which will complete the data processing and human machine interface design of calibration system. The system can meet with the demand of auto-calibration function. To improve the accuracy of flow regulation, this paper proposes nine-point control rule to control the valve opening.This system has some features like complete system functionality, simple operation, high degree of automation and so on, and it has been working in the laboratory and it performs well.
