Research Of Small Hydro Grid Stability

Small hydropower is a kind of renewable green energy. The development of small hydropower plays an important role in China's local economy and social development. Small hydropower plays an essential role of peak clipping in the age when we lack of electrical coal and electricity consumption increase sharply. It ensures the safety and reliability of economic and social electricity consumption. However the economy usually develops backward and the power grid construction is relatively weak in the area where there're lots of small hydropower plants. The isolated network occurs easily in the eastern and southern China which is near the East See when typhoons or thunder storms hit the area.It is the base of high quality power supply that the power grid runs safely and stably. This experiment chooses and analyzes a small hydro grid in western Wenzhou according to the characters we mentioned above. The experiment points out the problems of the small hydro network and lists out some solutions of its stability control through the simulations and along with the practical operations of this power grid in the area. This paper includes the following keys:(1)This paper analyzes the grid structure of Wencheng network and calculate the power flow in both the wet and dry season.(2)This paper stimulates and analyzes the stability of Wencheng small hydro grid in various main operation modes. We analyze the hydro-generators' power angles and the frequencies of the hydro network.(3) This paper gives out some stability keeping solutions of the small hydro grid according to the power flow calculations and stability simulations of Wencheng grid. For example: speeding up the grid construction and reform, optimal dispatching and operation mode improving, immediate isolated network accident disposal and perfection of black start scheme.
