With the social development in recent years, the energy problem get more and more concerned by the whole world. The methods of getting power and the reasonable power usage are the important aspects of the energy saving. Adapting the high efficient-lighting and reliability lamps makes a big sense to China and the whole world.Now the high power LED lamps is high cost, which can't be acceptable by many users. In theory the Lifetime of the LED could beyond of 100K hours, which means it almost no needs the replacement during its lifetime. Although the cost is 10 times of the fluorescent lamp, if considering the lifetime, energy saving and non-pollution factors, the buying of LED is still quite reasonable. The key point is to extend the lifetime of the LED lamps as long as possible.This paper is use the high power 3W LED ceiling lamp as the example, analysis the main reasons which affect the life time of the LED lamp, then pick up the two main reasons to make the research and find the solutions. Traditionally the design of the LED lamp radiator will be divided 3 steps:1,To design the rough sketch graph according to the practical requirements and constraints.2,To design the thickness, shape, distance of the radiator fins and optimize the substrate thickness。3,To verify the design and calculate checking with the thermal analysis software. This paper will design one radiator for the 3 kinds of the commonly used LED ceiling lamps, and use the Smartview and Ansys to analysis the thermal structure, design of a cheap price, excellent radiation performance of the radiator.High power LED lamps often adapt 3 kinds of power drivers, resistor current-limitation method, linear control method, and switch control method. With consideration of cost and performance, this paper will design one power driver with switch control method suitable for the 1-3W high power LED ceiling lamps, also test the efficiency and the ripple to verify its transfer efficiency, and try to decrease the producing heat and keep the constant current stable.
