High Power LED Driver And Roadway Lighting Monitoring System

Roadway lighting is very important in the construction of urban public infrastructure, but it has some drawbacks, such as large consumption and low efficiency. With the developing of LED lighting technology, LED has advantages of saving energy, environmental friendly and durable. Moreover, it is easy to control and has high efficiency compared to the traditional lighting technology. Therefore, the energy consumption can be largely reduced if applying LED for public lighting. However, the current power supply for LED exist some shortcomings, such as low reliability and low efficiency, which limit the application of LED. Thus, how to research and develop high efficiency and high reliability LED drivers is an urgent thing in the field of public lighting.With the expanding of public lighting, the drawbacks of the traditional control system of public lighting become more and more evident and cannot satisfy with the management and maintenance requirements of the modern public lighting any more. Fortunately, the rapid developing of Zig Bee wireless communication technology which has the advantages of low consumption, low cost and easy to control provide a new solution to realize high reliability, high efficiency and intelligent of the monitoring system of the public lighting.According to the above problems, this paper has accomplished the following works:Firstly, in order to fulfill the aforementioned advantages of LED, a stable and efficient LED driver has been designed in this paper. Accordingly, a prototype was built.Secondly, the wireless monitoring system of public lighting is implemented based on the Zig Bee wireless technology instead of the traditional one. This wireless controlling system applies CC2530 wireless module as a network node hardware solution. And then, designed the hardware and software system and combines them with PC monitoring software, which makes real-time monitoring possible.Finally, the monitoring system has been tested, and its performances are satisfies with the requirements, which verifies the feasibility of this system.
