The performance of radar is seriously affected by the clutter, especially the airborne radar, the clutter is quiet strong with widely distributed power spectrum, so the target detection is affected by the clutter in all distances. The research of the simulator of the airborne radar's clutter has become an important topic. Research on the modeling and simulation of clutter is helpful for the design of the radar simulator, accuracy, real-time clutter simulation directly affects the performance of the radar simulator. In this thesis. I analyze the characteristics of the airborne PD radar's ground clutter, and research the modeling methods to simulate. The main work and the results are as follows:Several models based on statistical properties of the clutter is introduced. The commenly used method to form the related clutter as SIRP(Spherically Invariant Random Process) and ZMNL(Zero Memory Nonlinearity) is discussed, and use ZMNL method to simulate coherent Rayleigh. coherent Logarithmic-normal, coherent Weibull clutter.The analysis of formative characteristics of airborne PD radar's ground clutter is introduced. Based on the backward scattering factor model of ground which Morchin proposed, the distribution circs of ground clutter's power spectrum is calculated by adopting the clutter's power spectrum analytic calculation model of Range-Doppler divisiory method, which starts from the airborne PD radar's working process. And the influence of the ground clutter's power spectrum distribution which is affected by different conditions, is analyzed by computer simulation. Based on the power spectrum of the clutter, a real-time computation method with off-line computing is presented.The simulator of airborne radar's clutter is designed, each function of the simulator is introduced. Based on the known power spectrum of the clutter to reconstruct the signal which don't limit the amplitude probability density distribution and preserve the frequency-domain information in range channels. Interpolation filters is designed to increase the data rate, and digital quadrature modulation is uesd to simulate IF clutter signal. The RF signal function is introduced.
