The Breaking Rotary Dryer is a kind of drying equipment which uses effective contact of solid material and thermo-air to take water from the solid. It can dry high viscosity material, and has a lot of advantages, such as large drying mass, continuous work and so on. It has been widely used in the fields of chemistry, material and metallurgy.To study the breaking rotary dryer-DSG 1000.00, on the basis of the preprocessor Gambit, solver and postprocessor Fluent, in this dissertation, it models the three-dimensional entity of fluid in the rotary of the Breaking Rotary Dryer, determines a reasonable region of calculation and boundary conditions, and meshes for the entity model.Then the standardκ-εturbulence model is chosen to simulate the single-phase gas flow and the two-phase gas-solid flow in the Rotary. After the simulation, the velocity distribution, the pressure distribution, the temperature distribution and the particles'distribution can get.Analysis result of single-phase gas shows that the flow of gas in the Rotary is influenced by the rotary region of the breaking shaft and that of the Rotary. Original machine can not take full use of the energy of gas. After adding the delay-plane, the velocity distribution of the whole fluid region is even and the total-pressure-drop increases.Two-Fluid model and Discrete-phase model are chosen to explore the flow pattern of two-phase gas-solid. The result shows that the area around this region has a large temperature gradient and a large drying-rate. The area around the region of the solid-outlet-cover has an even distribution of temperature and in this region the drying-rate reduces.The particles' motion is complicated and random because of the gas turbulence. In addition, the sizes of particles influence the drying quality.The results of numerical simulation provide reference for selecting parameters and for studying and improving the structure of the breaking rotary dryer.
