As the electric power technology development, the high-voltage transmission technology become the main technology to solve the problem which power load and power generation are not in the same area, and in order to improve the reliability of the power system, to reduce electric power equipment's accident, the high voltage electric power equipment's performance tests become more and more important. This article through analyzing the characteristics of GIS (Gas-insulated enclosed-metal switchgear) and of high-voltage power cables and the test regulationsproposes using frequency resonant system to do the AC withstand test of GIS and of high-voltage power cables. The merits of the Frequency resonant system are high efficiency, small volume, convenient operation easy operation, so the Frequency resonant system is more and more used to test on site.This article analyzes the development of the power electronic technology and the electric power test equipment and compares the advantages and disadvantages of domestic and foreign similar equipment and proposes to use the PWM control mode of VVVF series resonant system as the GIS and high coltage power cable withstand test equipment.Then this article introduces in detail standards of the GIS and power cable AC withstand test, introduces of assorted electric and high-voltage cables GIS of test voltage and test procedures in the electric power construction, and puts forward the test requirements on site.Then the article focused on the whole device in high-pressure reactor, frequency conversion power, transformer's parameters and experiment site technical requirements of the device integration to improve working efficiency, and analyzes the internal principle of the variable frequency power,failure protection. Then it uses variable configuration mode for different voltage grade, different length hv power cables.Through the withstand test data of the different voltage grade and different lengths of GIS and high-voltage power cables on site, the design parameters of VVVF frequency series resonant system is right. This device is proved that it has high reliability, safety, and practicability. It can create a good social benefits and economic benefits.In the end the paper the article exchanges the problem of the withstand tests and the power equipment, provides experience to the extensive application.
