With the development of control theories,power electronic and Micro electronic technology, variable frequency inverter for high voltage motors has been studied and used wildly.The paper generalizes the background and the topic resource of multilevel high voltage frequency inverter first, and analysis the resent situation of high voltage frequency inverter domestic and international, then conclude that the multi-unit-cascaded is the main topological structure.The Paper introduces the theories of multilevel high voltage frequency inverter from the topological structure, unit and phase-shifting transformer. Then the control system with the core chips of DSP and FPGA are described, and each part of control system is detailed designed. The advanced natural sample SPWM modulation is studied and achieved by software in FPGA. The loss of switch is calculated to select heat sink, according the switching loss, units and whole system thermal design are completed. The measurement and conversion of voltage and current are brightness which makes up the foundation of high performance research. So after lots of study and experiments, a test high voltage frequency inverter is achieved, it passed large current and type approval test, the test reports indicate that this inverter has the high output performance stability.At last, the conclusion is drawn for the research in the thesis, and some another problem that will be solved of the next staged is implied.
