Lifting machinery is very wide used in modern production and it is the indispensable auxiliary tool and process equipment. As the large equipment, the energy loss of bridge crane is bigger when running. There are several reasons influencing the energy loss, and the arch curve of the girder is the one not to be neglected. The arch curve of girder can decrease the running resistance and ensure the crane to be safe and steady when running, which is mainly prefabricated by cutting the girder web along a certain curve. There are several aspects that affect the arch of the girder, such as self weight, hoist weight and welding deformation. In order to ensure that the girder has reasonable arch, it is necessary to obtain the deformation of girder in those aspects. With finite element method, it can get relative accuracy result.First, the paper discusses the consequence of arch in energy-saving and performance aspects, and studies the provision and research status of domestic and external. Then every aspect that affects the arch is considered. After that, taking 50/10t typical box girder bridge crane as research object, using finite element software hyperwoks, it carry out structural analysis, and obtained the bending deformation of girder and move track of the crane dolly of girder with and without arch under the self weight and hoist weight. Then, the welding of girder is simulated by moving segmented heat source model and adopting coupled thermo-mechanical, which is compared with theoretical calculations. And that is a valuable guide for the cutting of web. As the hoist weight is not fixed, a certain arch curve with different hoist has different energy consumption. The probability distribution of hoist weight is studied to get the least energy consumption arch curve of different distribution. The research results of this paper provide a great reference value to the cutting of web.
