Power transformer is important in power grid, consumption increased each year with the development of national economy, single power transformer capacity, voltage levels and volume increased rapidly. However, as the shortage of resource and materials price increased significantly, optimistic design of power transformer structure is imperative.In this thesis, for bulky and costly problems of traditional power transformer, research on the S9-25000/110 power transformer, according to the specifications of power transformer, calculate electric field of the main insulation structure in power transformer, analyzed the main influence factor of the electric filed intensity of power transformer, the variation of maximum electric filed during different factor changing is determined, and the result is discussed, obtain the capacity of different factors influence on the maximum electric field intensity, propose reducing the maximum electric field intensity and method of production costs, the theory has been determined for reducing the maximum electric filed intensity and the manufacturing cost of power transformer.To optimize the main insulation structure of power transformer, Fortran 95 was integrated with finite element method(FEM)analysis software and particle swarm optimization(PSO)algorithm program was compiled. By introducing FEM analysis software, the main factors influencing the maximum electric field intensity of 110kV power transformer were optimized. These factors include the distance between high and low voltage, distance between electrostatic plate and yoke, curvature radius of electrostatic ring, and curvature radius of angle ring. Calculation results were analyzed and discussed,and the electric filed distribution and maximum electric field intensity were given. The studied results show that PSO is successfully applied in design of main insulation structure in power transformer, and the volume and manufacturing costs of power transformer are reduced under the premises of meeting relational technology standard. Finally, validate the lighting and temperature rise of the optimized structure, results show that the optimized structure is under the related standard, the method in designing power transformer is practical and general.
