With the rapid development of solar energy, semiconductor, advanced optics equipmentand precision micro-mould in China, more and more factories need an ultra-precision micro-grinding machine for processing. While the hybrid spindle, which overcomes the defect ofserious wear and tear with rolling bearing, is the one of the key technologies to develop ultramicro-grinding machines.Although the hybrid bearing spindle is the main trend on the ultra-precision processingtechnology in the future, there are many problem that have not been solved in the aspect ofminiaturization for hybrid bearing spindle, such as poor carrying capacity, high working temperature,difficult process and so on.. Because of low carrying capacity with small hybridbearing, the rotating speed must be relatively high when ultra-precision process is conducting,and plenty of heat produced in working situation will result in too much higher temperature,so the accuracy of the bearing will be seriously affected.Based on the analysis about working principle of the small hybrid spindle and characteristicsof bearing oil wedge, this paper studied the theoretical calculations about the temperaturefield of the interior bearing; as well as the mathematical modeling for small hybrid spindle,computational fluid dynamics software—Fluent is adapted to the simulation for spiraloil wedge in the low-viscosity media. We achieve the distribution of average temperature inthe outlet and analyses distribution temperature field, as well as the pressure field distributionboth in the dynamic state and static state; Then apply the finite element analysis software—Ansys to simulation of the spindle temperature, and get the temperature field at different times;finally, by measuring the temperature of the spindle when the small hybrid bearing is working,we studied effects on the temperature of the spindle with different processinparameters ,according to this, parameter optimization is also completed.At present, there is the less in studying small hybrid bearing spindle at home and abroad,and blank in the field of studying temperature rise of micro-hybrid bearing spindle that diameteris less to 25 mm.
