Magnetic system make use of magnetic force as the support, so it is very important for promoting the theoretical research and practical application of maglev system to analysis of the mechanical properties of the electromagnetic force and do accurate calculation. Magnetic circuit method is often used to calculate of the electromagnetic force in industry because of convenience. The theoretical calculation is based on several assumptions, such as:the magnetic field is in uniform distribution, no magnetic flux leakage and the magnetic materials is linear and unsaturated. But for large air-gap maglev device, as the increasing of setpoint range, the magnetic field distribution is more and more uneven, and magnetic flux leakage increased sharply, which lead to the broken of the assumptions of the theoretical calculation in magnetic field. So as in the large air-gap magnetic system, theoretical calculation of the magnetic force is not accurate, and it is necessary to revise the calculation and deduced a calculation which is more accurate.This article mainly studied on the characteristics of electromagnetic force in large air-gap maglev device. Taking use of large air-gap maglev device to do experiment and simulation, and then concluded the actual change rule of electromagneticforce with coil current and gap in large air-gap maglev device. In addition, in this paper, we also make use of magnetic levitation electro-magnetic method—magneticcircuit calculation, to calculate of magnetic force. The result shows that:the theore-tical calculation result and the actual measurement results in greater error. Then, analysis of the distribution of error, discusse the possible causes of the errors, and do quantitatively analyzed to every main error influence factors. Finally, using the corre-ction coefficient method to revise the original theory calculation, and deduce to a new calculation which is more precise and can be applicable to all kinds of air-gap in magletiv system.Different from the other scholars at home and abroad, the biggest characteristics in this paper is that:we do full range of analysis from both qualitative and quantitative aspect of electromagnetic influence factors in large air-gap maglev device. On the one hand, summarize the characteristics of electromagnetic force with the change of coil current and air gap; On the other hand, analysis the error of theory calculation and optimise it. In view of these two points, this paper not only extend and improve the maglev application field, but also effectively promote the simplify and revise of theoretical calculation. So this study play an impotant role in magletiv field.
