With the power system strategy of " transmission electric power from West to East, exchange power between South and North and interconnection in the whole country" steady progress, HVDC transmission applications in the grid are more and more. Along with NingDong-Shandong±660kV HVDC putting into operation, Shandong power grid as the DC end of the project, running a hybrid AC-DC power system, it is necessary to establish a more detailed electromagnetic transient simulation AC-DC system model of Ningdong DC transmission and Shandong Power grid to simulate the interaction between them.Based on the actual device data of Ningdong HVDC transmission project, the paper established in the PSCAD/EMTDC a model including converters, converter transformers, DC filters, AC filters and reactive power compensation equipment, smoothing reactors and DC transmission line, and in accordance with CIGRE HVDC benchmark model of a typical control system, established a preliminary three classes of HVDC control structures, and also analyzed the selection of parameters in the PI part of the control logic; based on BPA simulation model components and parameters,we made the model in the PSCAD/EMTDC after the implement of dynamic equivalent of Shandong power grid500kV AC system, including model of generator, exciter, governor, power system stabilizers, transformers, transmission lines and power load and so on, Applying with PSCAD/EMTDC users development capabilities, we developed user-defined saturation block in the excitation system. Simulation for steady state and transient of the model of AC and DC systems, and camparation the simulation results with simulation model established by BPA verifies proper of the model. In the simulation example of AC-DC interactions, the establishment of a fault angle tuning module, to avoid different perspectives on the impact of system simulation results when power failure occurs, and then simulating the impact of the AC-DC interaction when fault occurs with the built equivalent system model.
