With the development of society, the electricity has been widely used in industry, agric ulture, national defense, construction of science and people's life. More we reply on it, mor e the demand is. The development of the industry of the electric power is fast so that the ele ctric grid structure becomes more and more complex and electric power load becomes large r. However, for now, it is still hard to meet the demand of electric power of all walks of life. As a perfect electric power system, it is not only to ensure the continuity of the power supp ly and the quality of power supply (the fluctuation of frequency and voltage should not exc eed the prescribed deviation), but also to consider the cost of power. Hence, the higher requ est is called on power distribution network reliability and economic efficiency.In the long past time, the study of power distribution system reliability is not paid eno ugh attention. The reliability theory is a new comprehensive edge discipline, including mat hematics, electric power, computer, and other disciplines. So the demand of researchers is h igh and it's difficult to find the absolute best method. In order to improve the power supply reliability, we must reform the production technology to improve production efficiency and expand the scale of the power plant to increase system capacity. Meanwhile, it's necessary t o maintain equipment in time and replace the old equipment to ensure the stability of the eq uipment. All of that will result in the increasing of costs. So, the contradictions come:one si de is how to guarantee absolute power supply reliability from a technical perspective while the absolute economic benefit is not the highest. On the other hand, from an economic pers pective, how to maximize the power supply reliability with minimum costs while the absolu te power supply reliability is not the highest. This paper focuses on the exploration and stud y of this problem.The details are as follows:Firstly, we introduce the background and significance of this study including the curre nt research status at home and abroad.Secondly, the characteristics of the distribution network and its parameters are analyze d. Then, the calculation formula of those is given. Thirdly, the algorithm which is used to evaluate the reliability of distribution network i s summarized, which shows the advantages and disadvantages of those.Fourthly, the application of FMEA algorithm in network reliability assessment is intro duced, including the concept of harm degree analysis, contrasting the characteristic of depth first traverse and breadth first traverse. Combining with hierarchical thinking, the algorith m used in this paper is determined;Fifthly, the reliability evaluation of actual power grid by using method which is select ed in previous chapter is taken and verifies the correctness of the reliability indexes;Sixthly, the common method and content of economic evaluation and the calculation method of economic loss is introduced. Then, the economic evaluation of the results of the r eliability evaluation is taken.Finally, the insufficiency of the work is summarized and the research direction of futur e work is given.
