With rapid development of world economy, there was a sharp increase of the quantity of city private car in recent years, the increment of city road capacity failed to keep up with the increases speed of urban car. As a result, the sustainable urban development was limited by city road congestion and traffic safety problem, and so on. The development of intelligent public transportation system had great significance for easing the enormous pressure of urban traffic.Based on the existing research results in the field of on-board technology of CVIS, this paper had done further study about on-board technology of CVIS from Zigbee communication technology and the development of on-board embedded system. The concrete research content was shown as follows:(1)The on-board scheme was designed from microcosmic and macroscopic views, and its function was defined according to urban traffic signal control, bus electronic stop board and bus safety assistant driving. And then, this paper put forward the key technology of scheme, including the design of wireless network based on Zigbee and bus terminal unit based on ARM. According to the function of system, the mutual information was divided into five styles.(2)According to different roles of Vehicle-mounted mobile node in CVIS, this paper designed the scheme of the urban public transport vehicle mobile node, realized ad hoc network, Joining network and left network of vehicle mobile node.(3)The development of on-board system included hardware and software design. The hardware design part used the modular design concept, and the paper put forward six function modules, including S3C2440A microprocessors working circuit, Zigbee device working circuit, LCD and touch panel controlling circuit, NandFlash controlling circuit, serial communication interface circuit and bus patronage of counter signal processing circuit, and so on. The software design part made use of no operating system of embedded software system design ideas, and the paper had designed and debugged the applications.(4)The bus on-board device had been debugged in laboratories, and there were three steps, hardware testing, software debugging and integrated debugging. Through repeat modification and experiment, the paper completed the system synthesis debugging. According to the debugging results, the bus on-board device had achieved the anticipated goal.
