The public transport is the inevitable product of urban development, which is alsothe critical infrastructure for the urban survival, playing a indispensable role in the city. The public transport network is a giant complex network which consists of the bus linesand the docking sites and its structure is very complex and difficult to manage.According to the relevant knowledge of complex network to analyse and research itscharacteristics and survivability, people can be inspired to reveal the complexity andevolution mechanism in order to provide new ideals and methods for relevantprofessional and technical personnel to solve the construction management of the roadnetwork. This paper mainly introduces the home and abroad current research and basictheory of the complex network., and on this basis, it briefly introduces the differentmodeling methods of the main city bus network and selects the bus transfer network asthe complex network model, combined with the geographical features of the main cityof Chongqing. Taking the bus data of the main city of Chongqing as a example, we canuse the PAJEK to draw a complex network schematic diagram and then convert it to theadjacency matrix of the complex network and calculate the average path length andclustering coefficient e.t.c. by programming with MATLAB. At the same time, we showthe degree and the degree distribution diagram to analyse the characteristics of thecomplex network and compare them with those of the bus transfer in other cities. This paper focuses on the study of survivability of the complex network inChongqing by using the random attack strategy and the deliberate attack strategy. Therandom attack strategy means completely deleting the nodes of the network at random;the deliberate attack strategy means deleting the nodes in descending order of the valuein network. Taking the bus transfer in Chongqing as the complex network model, thismodel uses the average shortest path length and average clustering coefficient to measure survivability of the network after it is attacked by the above two types ofattacks and draws the relevant schematic diagram. We can draw the conclusion fromabove analysis: the bus network in Chongqing has the robust-yet-fragile characteristics.
