Study On Performance Of Engine Supplied With Methanol-Diesel

With the development of national economy, energy shortage and environmental pollution problem have become increasingly serious. To seek clean and high efficient substitutive fuels become all effective method for solving those problems. Methanol is regarded as a clean alternative fuel internationally, which has been received increasing attention, due to its low cost, wide range sources of raw materials, mature product process and renewable. So it has certain actual value and practical significance to develop application of methanol on the diesel engine, which can not only save petroleum resource, but also achieve diesel engine's clean combustion.This paper analyzed the basic physical and chemical characteristics of methanol diesel blended fuel. In order to investigate the effect of methanol-diesel blend fuel on diesel engine, diesel engine on the structure and not make any alterations which under the premise of the mixed burn diesel methanol technical plan, pure diesel fuel and different ratio methanol-diesel blend fuel are tested on a485diesel engine, respectively. After burning the methanol-diesel mixed fuel in the diesel engine, on the premise of no changes in the parameters of the diesel engine, the power was decreased slightly in comparison with using the pure diesel fuel. The corresponding maximum torque was also reduced slightly, and the decline range is within5%. With increasing the content of methanol in the mixed fuel, the fuel consumption of the engine increases gradually, while the economy is also reduced comparing with the diesel engine. When the volume fraction of methanol was10%and20%, the engine emissions are decreased by about25%and33%, respectively, in a free acceleration.
