As the increasing soil salinization caused the crop production, land desertification deeper than ever. Therefore, the fostering of new varieties of salt-tolerant plant is an economical and effective means to develop and utilization of Salinity-alkalinity land , The Jerusalem artichoke have strong ecological adaptability and resistance to poor, salinity, drought. It is one of salt-tolerant and efficient plants which is widely to plant in coastal beaches of china. J. artichoke is the rare of high-yield and high-density energy plants,the ecological value is huge. So in order to create new salt-tolerant germplasm,of J. artichoke, the salt tolerance identify is the primary. J. artichoke is excellent salt tolerance energy plant, but there is no precise conclusion on its salt tolerance. In order to explore its salt tolerance, growth and physiological indices of J. artichoke were tested at different salt stress (ECe为0,10,20,30,40,50å'Œ60 dS/m), to explore J. artichoke physiological indices and morphology changes in different conductivity conditions and to reveal the relationship in salt tolerance with these indicators ,and find the available indicators.Results showed that: J. artichoke could normal germinate and grow under ECe=030 dS/m;But J. artichoke can't survival under ECe=40dS/m, the normal germinate is rare under ECe=50,60dS/m; Germination rate and germination vigor decreased with the increase of NaCl concentration; With the extend of treatment time, the changes of hight, fresh weight, qP and NPQ were not obviously at ECe=10 dS/m but obviously reduce in ECe>10 dS/m; there are no obviously changes to the water contents of root and shoot compared to that of check (P>0.05) ; the water contents of leaf, the content and distribution of Na+,K+,Ca2+,chlorophyll fluorescence parameters Fv/Fm,chlorophyll and WUE first increased and then decreased. The low salt stress has a certain promot role caused a slight increase (p>0.05)in these indexs,but at ECe≥20 dS/m these indexs obviously reduce(p<0.05). then Reached there lowest point ECe=30 dS/m. These suggested that J. artichoke have a high salt tolerant under the low salt stress ;the hight, fresh weight, water contents of leaf, WUE, Na+,K+,Ca2+ content and distribution , chlorophyll fluorescence parameters Fv/Fm, and chlorophyll could be used as the important indices to evaluate salt tolerance of J. artichoke, Identification of Salt stress, germinate rate and germination vigor, dry weight biomass and qP,NPQ only could be used as the reference indices. In this experiment, the water contents of root and shoot compared the contrast has not been significantly affected, can not be identified as indicators of salt tolerance of Jerusalem artichoke. This can be provide basic of genetically modified to creat new warieties of J. artichoke and also can be for screening and cultivate excellent Jerusalem artichoke in saline-alkali land of exploitation to provide the theory basis and the reference.
