| Saccharum spontaneum L. is a perenial herbal plant that belongs to saccharum Andropogoneae Gramineae, and which has many superior charateristics such as good resistance, adpaptability and tillering capacity. It is not the only valuable wild germplasm resource that being used crossbreeding of cane, but also is one of species in saccharum with abundant wild germplasm and high content of sucrose. It can also be used as energy plant and ornamental grass. Among all species of saccharum, S. spontaneum is widely spread almost all tropical and temperate zone.Experimental materials of wild S. spontaneum were collected from Ming river, Qingyi river and Tuo river. Study of genetic diversity were based on SRAP marker, production performance and potential energy, by which rational utility of wild S. spontaneum and suggestion of exploiting herbal energy plant in China were proposed. The results were as follow:1,S.spontaneum posseses high biology yield,high tiller ability,higher photosynthetic efficiency and dry matter accumulative ability.Meanwhile, S.spontaneum is suitable to view. So, S.spontaneum has significant economic value and ecological value.The genetic diversity of Saccharum spontaneum L collected as natural populations from Sichuan province in China were investigated using SRAP markers.235 loci were identified with 21 oligonucleotide primers, out of which 185 loci were polymorphic (PPB=78.72%) S.spontaneum showed high genetic diversity:The percentage of polymorphic loci (PPB%) was 78.72%, Nei's gene diversity (h) was 0.2801 and Shannon's information index (â… ) was 0.4155 at the species level;Gst(0.2088) and Nm(1.8944) showed that the genetic variation within populations was greater than that among populations. Cluster analysis showed that there were a little correlation between Nei's genetic distance and geographic distance of the 9 S.spontaneum populations. Additionally, some protection strategies about S.spontaneum were discussed.2,Saccharum spontaneum is a common wild plant resource widely spread in China. In order to develop and utilize Saccharum spontaneum as a herbal energy plant, twenty-one wild accessions were assessed by production performance. The results were as follow:all accessions could finish a complete growth period. Accession SAGS08081's growth period lasted 167 d as the longest one, whereas, accession SAGS08068 had the shortest growth period that was 127 d. Growth height and speed of twenty-one accessions varied almost the same, from jointing date to heading date, the speed of growth was the fastest. Among all production indexes, variation of individual dry yield and tiller number was the most significant, coefficient of variation was 52.39% and 46.30%, respectively. And number of internodes had the smallest coefficient of variation was only 14.99%. Yield of individuals was obviously different. Individual fresh yield ranged from 98.30 to 1238.90 g, with an average 481.27 g. The dry yield was 45.39g-335.62 g with an average 165.51 g. Cluster analysis divided all accessions into two groups, and accessions in group I were superior to groupâ…¡at all indexes.3,21 wild S. spontaneum materials of potential production in Sichuan were evaluated by grey system theory. According to analysis of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, crude ash and thermal value, the order of weight of five indexes was:thermal value> cellulose>hemicellulose>lignin>crude ash. Integrated estimated model was built by weight value. In this model, materials SAGS08072,SAGS08068and SAGS08076 had highly potential for energy plant, which are useful for researches of S. spontaneum as an energy plant germplasm in the future. |
