To evaluate the effect of inonotus obliquus polysaccharide(IOP) against Toxoplasma gondii infection, in this study, carrying out the following three tests to compare its effect, it will provide a theoretical basis for further studies on new drugs against Toxoplasma gondii.The all test was divided into four groups, model group, negative group, IOP group and positive (artemether) group, respectively. Mice in other groups were given 100 tachyzoites of the RH strain of Toxoplasma gondii except for negative group with saline by intraperitoneal injection,4 hours later, all drugs(0.1ml/10g) were adiministered by gastric infusion, once a day,7days in total.By pathological examination methods in the pathology experiments, after drug treatment in mice infected with Toxoplasma gondii were identified by major tissue organs. Through the pathology observed, in addition to the negative group, the other 3 groups had individual bleeding. However, the severity is different, model group is the most obvious pathological changes in mice, IOP group just to seem some minor pathological changes, and lighter than the positive group.In the study, for evaluate the effect of IOP against acute Toxoplasma gondii infection pre and post treatment on reproductive organs of pregnant mice and growth of fetal mice. The results showed that nucleus vacule, absent nuclei and hyperemia revealed in these spermatogonia of mouse testis of model group, nevertheless, IOP group and positive group were normal. Mouse ovary tissue of model group shown inflammatory response, and oviduct of model group and positive group shown thickened, IOP group tend to be normal. Compared with model group, the testis tissue coefficient of negative group and IOP group were extremely significant difference(P<0.01), other three groups were significantly different in epididymis organic coefficient(P<0.05). On apoptosis for testicular germ cell in mice, to evaluate the effect of IOP against acute Toxoplasma gondii infection. The apoptosis rate of germ cell was detected by flow eytometry in the test groups, model group, negative group and positive group. Compared with those in the negative group, The IOP of high, medium-dose group and positive group of testicular germ cell apoptosis index was significantly decreased(P<0.05). IOP call suppress testieular germ cell apoptosis and repair pathological damage of testicular. Statistical analysis was done to the data of survived fetus number and development condition of their offspring, The result shows that model group, negative group, IOP group and positive (artemether) group, pregnancy rate was 20%,100%,100% and 90%, still birth rate was 100%,0%,3.57% and 6.74%, respectively. All group were significantly different in fetal mortality, average body weight of living fetal mice, weight and length(P<0.01).In order to investigate the effect of IOP on SOD in mice infected with RH strain of toxoplasma gondii. Eighty mice were divided into IOP group, and the establishment of the model group, negative group and positive (artemether) group, the mice model was made by RH strain of toxoplsma gondii, SOD activities in mice serum, heart, liver and lung were detected. The result shows that survival time of IOP group and positive group shown significantly difference (P<0.05). About SOD activities, compared with negative group, the model group, IOP group and positive group were significantly difference in third days(P<0.05), compared with model group, IOP group and positive group were significantly difference in sixth days(P<0.05).Conclusion:IOP has good in vivo inhibition of Toxoplasma gondii infection and anti-inflammatory effects, It may effectively reduce injury which was caused by inflammation. may improve the body and genital function in male mice with Toxoplasma gondii infection, and also may improve the function of female rats and inhibition of Toxoplasma gondii infection in the body caused by premature birth, miscarriage or stillbirth, at the same time, promote the development of fetal, and also improve the oxidation resistance of the body.
