Aeration irrigation is by means of subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) system with Venturi injectors. The aerated water from the equipment is supplied to the irrigation system. The fluid mixture is delivered to the root zone of the plant so as to advance the growth of the plant and yield and improve the quality.To date, our major objective has been to assess the technical and economic feasibility of AirJection Irrigation as a best management practice for various crops. Many contries , Astrila for example , have tested the technology on cotton ,peppers, fresh market tomatoes, cantaloupes.But reports on airjection frequency and oxygen demand are few. Also, many interal reports are on airjction into nutrient solution. Meeting these problems, we have studied on growth , Yield and quality of Mini-watermelon in Greenhouse under Airjection Irrigation according to theoretical analysis and trial. Some conclusions are described in the below.(1) Study the difference of yield and growth between airjection into the root zone and SDI by potted plant ,It has concluded that three different frequency advanced the yield 7.3%,18.6%,4.5% compared the Non-Aerated Control; and the growth of the plant , the area leaf ,the chlorophyll content and the dry weight are better than the Non-Aerated Control.(2) In the trial, We used E601 to control the irrigation quantity. We tested the different Kcp(Kcp=1.0,1.25)which have effect on Mini- watermelon in the same frequency. We found that more water and less water has bad effect on the growth. Excess water can bring the stem and leaf overgrown. It can block the plant breathing so as to affect metabolism. The yield and quality of T2 are better than T5,T2 can also save water. So, Kcp=1.0 is fit.(3) We also have tested airjection's effect on root zone by means of Venturi injectors in order to know the mechanism of airjection making the plant grow better. The results show that soil volumetric water content in the airjection condition is lower than in the SDI condition under same irrigation. But both are above the lower limit of soil moisture. This alao explains airjection can promote the ability of root crop and impove water use efficiency. And Root activity in the airjection condition is better than the Non-Aerated Control. So airjection irrigation also increase the absorption nutrients.(4)We have tested Mini-watermelon's yield and quality in different airjection frequencies so as to know the best airjection frequency. The root's growth need appropriate oxygen concentration in the root zone. Oxygen concentration in the root zone has effect on plant growth and fruit formation. This study investigated three frequencies, one time/a day, one time /two days, one time/four days. From the results,T1, T2, T3 treatments increased yield of 29.16%,41.01% and 20.16% compared the Non-Aerated Control. T2 increased yield is the most significant. T1, T2 and T3 treatment on total soluble sugar, VC content, organic acid and protein content with the formation of a significant different compared the Non-Aerated Control. T2 has the best quality.T2 handling the airjecttion is the root of the appropriate.(5)Under the SDI, We studied using air compressors to the root zone aeration on crop growth and yield, compared the Venturi injectors. The results show that injectig air into soil increased soil aeration and increased the oxygen content of the soil root zone. Promoting root growth and root activity. All three different frquencies airjection increased to varying degrees of Min-watermelon in greenhouse yield and quality, which, to 1/2dis best frequency. However using air compressors to the root zone aeration on crop growth and yield and quality is no significant different , compared the Venturi injectors. Also it has great cost in manpower and resources,not suitable for application in the production practice.
