Wood is a kind of natural biological materials which has a complex structure of the porouscapillary. Permeability is a quantity which describes the difficulty level of getting into, throughand out of the wood. There are many factors related to the impregnation of the wood, such as thestructure of wood, the medium and technology. We designed a multi-function pressure impregnating cans. It had many functions, such asvacuum treatment and pressure treatment. This paper studied the influence of different factors onthe effect of wood impregnation. This paper analyzed the influence on the wood performanceof impregnation by means of WPG, MOE, MOR and TS. So the reasonable craft combinationcould be found out in order to improve wood impregnation. The results showed:1.The multi-function pressure impregnating cans could meet the requirements of theexperiment. It can satisfy the following functions, such as vacuum treatment, pressure treatment, heating. It also had automatic temperature control system and the basic function of thecompressor.2.Vacuum treatment can effectively increase the wood impregnation effect. After vacuumtreatment, WPG is3times of atmospheric.3.Pressure has important implications on the impregnation effect. When pressure is0.3MPato0.4MPa, WPG is3times of atmospheric. When the pressure increases to0.6MPa, WPG isover4times. However, as the pressure increased again, there is no significant effect. Whilevacuum treatment combined with pressure treatment, the impregnation effect improved a lot,WPG is about5times of atmospheric.4.Impregnation time is another important factor. For the wood which is25mm, theimpregnation effect is not significantly. Considering the cost and efficiency, it could be concludedthat1h is the best holding time.5.Compression can improve the WPG. The WPG could rise up to49%as the increase of thecompression ratio. However, when combined with vacuum treatment, the increase of WPG is notobvious. Due to the theory is similar; both of them increased the internal and external pressuredifference in order to make the liquid easy to get into the internal of the wood.6.Liquid temperature also had significant influence on impregnation effect. When thepressure is0.4MPa, impregnation time is1h and liquid temperature is70℃, WPG is3times ofnormal temperature under the same conditions. The WPG could reach up to90%.7.Through to the pressure, the compression ratio and liquid temperature three factors oforthogonal experimental analysis, it could be concluded that pressure has important implications on WPG. The more the pressure, the better the results are. However, Combined with theproduction cost, safety and other factors, the appropriate pressure should be chosen.8.Although compression ratio could also increase the impregnation effect, it is notsignificant among with other factors. So the appropriate compression ratio should be chosen.9.Improve the temperature of the liquid is a kind of effective, feasible, simple method inorder to improve the impregnation effect. At the mean time, it could make the wood moreenvironmental for it could make the free formaldehyde send out more quickly. Combined withthe cost and other factors,70℃isappropriate temperature. In summary, select the process: vacuum treatment0.5h; the pressure0.7MPa; impregnationtime1h and liquid temperature70℃.
