Acient trees are are extremely valuable natural resources and historical and cultural heritage, with important scientific research, history, culture and socio-economic value. Due to natural or man-made reasons, many ancient trees face the threat of weakness and death. Acient trees need to step up protection, and the study on rejuvenation of ancient trees is an important issue in this industry today. This experiment applying Cinnamomum camphora L. as experimental mater, and take different rejuvenation measures of injecting fertilization, boring to aerate and perforate stuffing to rejuvenation ancient camphor. Through continuous observing the morphological and physiological characteristics of ancient camphor trees, it discussed the impacts of injecting fertilization, boring to aerate and perforate stuffing on the annual growth state of ancient camphor tree, to provide some theoretical guidance for the rejuvenation of ancient trees, the main results are as follows:(1) Determinating the physicial and chemical properties of rhizosphere soil around ancient camphor trees. The results show that:Compared with the robust ancient camphor tree, the deterioration of soil condition of weak ancient camphor trees made an impact on the normal growth and physiological function of the ancient trees' roots, which in turn cause the premature senility of ancient trees.(2) Observed the growth dynamics of camphor fine roots by Minirhizotron. The result show that:the diameter range of fine roots in ancient camphor mainly distributed in 0-2.5mm, which percentage was over 74 percent in the accumulative total root length, and The distribution of each month in the largest diameter 0.5-1.0mm. Through monitoring that the fine roots have the largest district within 10-60cm soil depth, occuping the majority of the total.(3) After rejuvenation, the difference between each treatment show that:alone or integrated applications of three different rejuvenation measures can significantly promote the growth of fine roots, which injecting fertilization+boring to aerate can most effectively increase accumulative total length and accumulative superficial area of fine roots, however, the measures of boring to aerate+perforate stuffing and injecting fertilization+boring to aerate+perforate stuffing can most effectively increase the average diameter and accumulative volume of fine roots.(4)The result of leaf analysis show that:prophase in the rejuvenation treatment, Impacts of different treatments on fresh weight, dry weigth, and SPAD value of leaves in ancient camphor have no significant difference. At the end of the experiment, comprehensive rejuvenation(Injecting fertilization+Boring to aerate+Perforate stuffing) measures can most effectively increase the fresh weight, dry weight, and SPAD value of leaf.(5) The existence of nutrient deficiency and imbalance in weak ancient camphor, leading to the decline of tree vigor.(6) Nutrient deficiency and imbalance led to the decline of ancient trees; Except Cu, three rejuvenation measures can significantly increase the nutrient element content of leaves(N,P,K,Ca,Mg,Fe,Al,B,Zn), reducing the content of Na. And Injecting fertilization could effectively promote the absorption of plant nutrients than boring to aerate and perforate stuffing. Except P and Zn, Treatment III can significantly increased the nutrient element content of leaves than Check. The Cu element content of each treatment group and CK have no significant difference, and Na elements in each treatment were lower than CK.
