In this study, eight-two common maize lines and ten elite lines were used for agricultural traits evaluation. The results of selective breeding, regional and productive experiments were also elucidated. The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the traits which are heading stage, flowering, plant height, ear height, ear length, growth period and yield were remarkably different among 82 maize lines.Secondly, fine maize germplasms that resistance to diseases were identified and screened. Five maize lines were highly resistant to northern leaf blight of corn, eleven lines were resistant to southern leaf blight of corn, three lines were resistant to maize head smut and four lines were resistant to maize common smut.Thirdly, genetic correlations among eight traits were analyzed. The results indicated that the correlation coefficient between ear width and axis wide was significant while one-hundred seeds weight and era row numbers are negative correlation.Fourthly, foundation parents of maize in China, such as Huangzaosi, Zi330, Mo17,Dan340, and Ye478 etc. were also characterized in this studied. The results showed that they have highly different resistant to some maize diseases and seeds yield.Fifthly, the results from breeding, regional and productive experiments suggest that Longju 1 is high-yield, stable-yield and resistance to diseases.
