Rice is one of primary cereals in our country. Because direct seeding of rice doesn't need plant on rice seedling bed, and excuses the working procedure for rice seedling and transplant, it can save labor, improve work productivity, and reduce labor intensity. So the countries diffusely use this kind of rice seeding mode in Europe and American. The mechanization level of direct seeding is very low. So investigating direct seeding machine of rice possess very important meaning. This research receive the outlay subsidization of project of the science and technology of plan Jinhua" Research of the light paddy planter"(number:2004-2-125).The paddy planter has very good market prospects. Enterprises should improve the competitiveness of market in order to obtain greater market share, need to accelerate the update of the products, promote performance and value of the products, innovate to the products to some extent. To this demand of enterprises, this paper uses the design method to study the thought and innovative design method, design to that the paddy planter has innovated, and has carried on advanced development to the products that are designed, the prototype of a machine carried on the field test finally, made better test result. Have already applied for the new practical patent of this light type paddy planter at present.The development of the domestic and international technique about paddy mechanical direct seed in has been summarized in this paper. Principles and methods and domestic and international state of development of the Innovation Design and Design Methodology are discussed. Use this method, the paddy planter carries on scheme, structure and function has been designed the innovational way. Function draw through and decomposed, function principle is synthesized, and obtained several feasible schemes.According to the product characteristic, economical, technical and social factors, set up proper assessment index, use multi-level, multi-target AHP assessment method, we compare the several schemes together and get the best one.The detailed structural design of the light paddy planter has been carried out by Pro/E, parts drawing was got in AUTO CAD software. The paddy planter with function and structure innovating have got when the whole system integrate. The light paddy planter is designed and produced, the field test have carried on. Ear becoming rate, flat rates, ear long, straw high, millet straw than, output, water consumption, seed quantity, efficiency and cost, etc. target has been discussed. The result shows:compared with ordinarily transplanting rice seedlings, the efficiency of sowing of the prototype of the machine has improved to a great extent, and water-conservation, germ save, homework cost low.It is five points about the innovation of the paper:(1)This model is simple structure, light, convenient to carry and move,simple and convenient to use, easy to wash and maintain, suitable for the application of single household, in conformity with agricultural production mode of our country at present.(2)The rim vibration leak protection of the machine is a original creation, it perform well in practice.(3)The sowing amount regulates device can regulate on a large scale according to the need, adapt to the seed sprouts. It is simple of configuration and convenient to regulate.(4)Fender device dispel foot hole, erase foot hole, it is favorable to the growth of the seed, and improve the rice output.(5)Manufacturing cost of machine is under 130 yuan, market price within 200 yuan, market prospects is good.The portable paddy direct seeder is a instrument with bright market foreground, which can be single operated with high efficiency and agility.
