Agriculture, rural areas and farmers, are always the major problems of the country's economic and social development. The construction of intensive rural residential area is advantageous to the various resources of countryside, saving energy, improving the rate of land utilization, optimizing the development in urban and construction of rural modernization. Because peasants are the main body of the function, rural residential area landscape also has different requirements. Study of intensive landscape is in favor of improving the farmer's production and life style..DongHanVillage is located in northern suburb of HuXian, 1 km away from the town center. The population of the village is 246, 1,050, cultivated land per capita 0.5 acres. Since the 1990s, the DongHan village develops energetically in industry and farmers painting tourism, and for the collective economy and the rapid development of social undertakings, the spirit of the villagers has undergone a welcome change. The DongHan Village has been awarded the honor of "national civilized village", " the national agricultural tourism demonstration sites," "provincial well-off demonstration village," or "new rural construction model village", and is known as "the first village in Shaanxi," "Green Shaanxi Province village "and so on. The high quality living environment of DongHan, makes great construction and becomes a demonstration role.This article, through literature retrieval, theoretical analysis, field investigation, and the exchange with experts and examples of analysis methods, investigates of new rural residential areas of general situation, then summarizes the basic requirements for residential area. With the analysis and research of the new rural construction achievement of DongHan village, and through vertical analysis and horizontal comparison of the combination, and the method of combining theory and practice, the article studied the design and landscape characteristics of DongHan village, putting forward the problems of construction and solutions.
