The design of the exsiting sorting system of cocoon is improved in this paper. For cocoons with fluorescent character, it adopts the visible light sensor LX1970 to acquire the fluorescent information of cocoons, the designing method of the structure of the signal acquisition system is given in this paper. The system works under the control and coordination of microcontroller PIC16F73, the comparator LM339 is used for designing the differential circuit of fluorescent voltage for cocoons; The digital signal of cocoon is collected by the ADC module of PIC16F73, then PIC16F73 communicats with the upper machine by the serial interface to complete automatic calibration for the reference threshold; The reference threshold is setted and stored by the programmable digital potentiometer, which provides variable reference voltage to easily meet the testing requirements of different batches of cocoons.The problems of the complicated setting for threshold, being affected by environmental temperature, and low efficiency of the existing system are resolved. The design improves the separation accuracy of the exsiting sorting system of cocoon. Experiments show that the system meets the need of engineering application.
