As the main mechanical equipment for wheat and rice harvesting, the combined harvester is developing rapidly in recent years. However, the electronic and automation level of the combines in domestic is generally low. This is due to the lack of electronic equipment for harvester working state indication and fault detection. When the harvester working state is abnormal or fault is about to occur, the operators may continue to run the machine due to lacking experience and thus aggravate the fault or damage the machine.If the harvester working state could be displayed or the fault alarm could call beforehand. operators would notice the abnormal conditions and make some adjustments to reduce or avoid fault occurrence, which thereby may improve harvesting efficiency and create more economic benefits. Based on such a purpose the research and development on the main components of the combine monitoring device are carried out. The device has the function of blockage fault early warning and alarming of key rotating parts such as threshing cylinder, fan and bearing temperature monitoring alarm, as well as the working status indication. which can promote the combine monitoring technology and is also of significance for the development of agricultural modernization.In this thesis, research contents and results are as follows:(1)The hardware design of main components of the combine monitoring device:Research and design are based on AT89S52 MCU as the core of the monitoring device. Through the speed change analysis, it realizes blockage fault judgment and fault warning and alarm of the drum, fan. grain auger, impurity auger with sound and light show, Through the bearing temperature variation analysis, it realize "hot shaft fault judgment" fault warning and alarm of the drum with sound and light show. Through the pressure, speed and temperature of oil. it achieves the harvester engine working state displaying. It also has a working state indicating for combine electrical system components such as far. near, steering lights and so on.(2)The software design of main components of the combine monitoring device:Software system selects C as the programming language. The temperature acquisition and the speed of data acquisition real time capture sensor signal.The fault monitoring algorithm subroutine analyzes the collected fault signals and working state of main components is real-time displayed through the LCD driver program.(3)Field-test:The device sensors are mounted to the harvester in each corresponding position. Panel portion is fixed to the front desk of steering room. The proper wiring and the protection are very important for avoiding disturbance and destruction from harvester working parts as well as the field environment. After many tests and improvements, field experiments are carried out in Hubei Dangyang and Jiangsu Xiaoji. The experiment results indicated that device was working properly:the working parameters could be displayed in real time, and the warning alarm called before minor drum blockage fault occurred.
