Nine major Royal jelly proteins (MRJP1-9) were determined fromhoneybee genome. Among them, the MRJP1-5were the main components of royaljelly protein and were the functional basis of royal jelly. While the MRJP6-9were notor less contained in royal jelly, and their function are unclear so far. To explore thepossible function of MRJP9, Total RNA was isolated from the sample of differentdeveloping stage and different body part of honeybee, the expresion of MRJP9genewere determined by RT-PCR. The results showed that MRJP9genes were widelyexpressed in all body part of honeybee in different developing stage. However, theexpress level of MRJP9were low in larvae, pupae and early emmerged adultshoneybee, but high in collecting honeybee. Express of MRJP9was related to thehoneybee developing stage. In collecting honeybee, MRJP9was specialy highexpressed in head, thorax and hypopharyngeal gland, less expressed in other bodyparts or tissues. Moreover, MRJP9were also expressed in multiple tissues of droneand queen honeybee, Its express is irrelated with the sex and caste of honeybee.Express of MRJP9was coincide with honeybee behavior development. And it washigh expressed in head and thorax, the body part directly related to collecting activity. Therefore, mrjp9may participate in the behavior development and labor devision ofhoneybee.
