Studies On Water Jet Used To Cut Weeds

The water jet technology is a new cutting technology. This technology makes the water as knife, any material could be cut as the researches by now. But the focuses of the researches are in high-pressure hydraulic cutting and the hard materials cutting. In this study, it was used to cut weeds. Compared with the method of cutting weeds used by now, it has several advantages:with no pollution, no loss, no dust, less noise, etc. The water jet cutting is electrically driven, witch is a clean energy, in line with the current "low carbon" lifestyle of the human.This paper analyzed the influence factors of water jet while it was used to cut weeds and proved its feasibility. Specific studies can be broadly divided into three parts:First, to determine the cut resistance of the weeds, a method of traditional blade cutting was adopted; Second, based on the hydrodynamic theory, the conversion of water jet force and blade cutting force relationship was calculated, and referenced on the achievement off-the-shelf of water jet, the factors of water jet used to cut weeds was analyzed. Finally, according to the test, the results of calculation was proved to correct and the factors notable were analyzed. In this study, mugwort was used for the test object, the following conclusions were gotten:1) Of the four factors witch affected the water jet, traversing speed of the nozzle is the greatest impact, the pump pressure, the target distance and the nozzle diameter was followed by.2) The nozzle diameter can't be lager than1.5mm, and it was appropriated that when it's about0.5mm, the cutting would be the best.3) The pump pressure couldn't lower than13.5MPa when the cutting target was mugwort.4) Verified the correctness of the existing research on divide the water into three sections, and in the core section of the water, the cutting effect was the best, the water jet cutting capacity gradually decreased with the increase of the target distance.5) Correction the relationship of the pump pressure and the speed of the jet, it was worked out as:v0=p/14.63...
