ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy and complications of intravitreous injection with Small dose of triamcinolone acetonide(TA)for diabetic macular edema.Methods58 patients 66 eyes with diabetic macular edema were collected. Every patient was taken general eye examination, intraocular pressure,+90 D front lens fundus examination, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) examination before and after treatment. Each patient was injected TA 2mg(0.05ml) by intravitreal injection. Postoperative follow-up time, changes of the visual acuity, intraocular pressure, macular retinal thickness and the lens and fundus were observed of all the patients on 1 weeks,1 month,3 months,6 months and 1 year. After treatment, follow-up time was 1 year.ResultsThe visual acuities, Patients with diabetic macular edema, were improved in varying degrees after intravitreal injection of TA,1 week,l month,3 months,6 months and 1 year respectively after treatment, the visual acuities were improved 0.07,0.29,0.34,0.27,0.11,compared with pre-treatment. The mean thickness of macular fovea was significantly decreased 102μm,523μm,547μm,356μm and 329 u m from 756μm in all the cases, intraocular pressure of three cases increased, The development of posterior capsule and lens opacity was observed in 4 eyes. No serious complications such as retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, and infectious endophthalmitis were found.ConclusionTreatment of intravitreal injection of TA for diabetic macular edema has a good effect in a short term, but long-term effect and complications require follow-up studies. |
