Heart disease is a serious threat to human life, which is one of the main causes of death in the world. People are not suitable for long-term treatment in hospital for this disease's Characteristics of hidden and sudden. In order to grasp the patient's information and provide the basis situation of the patient to the doctors, it is great significance to research ECG monitoring system. In recent years, with the rapid development of microelectronics technology, wireless communication technology and computer technology, medical devices are gradually becoming miniaturized, networking and intelligent, which provide good ideas and technical conditions to carry out such research and applications.Based on the analysis of the developments of ECG monitoring equipments, according to new trends of medical equipments, this article designs a kind of wireless ECG monitoring system with wireless communication technology and virtual instrument technology. System hardware design is divided into four parts:ECG data acquisition module, wireless transmit module, wireless receiver module and PC. It takes the microcontroller MSP430F149 as the core and CC2420 as the wireless communication chip. ECG data acquisition module obtains ECG signal from the electrodes. After pass through the signal conditioning circuit, the ECG data would be sent into analog-digital conversion unit and then transmitted from the wireless transmit module to the wireless receiver module. Finally, the ECG data would be transmitted to PC via serial interface. System software design includes analog-digital conversion program design, wireless communication program design, serial communication program design and LabVIEW program design. Using Lab VIEW software realizes serial data acquisition of ECG, data processing, waveform display, data storage and waveform playback.The issue have completed the hardware circuit design and produced a actual object. The results of the simulations and experiments show that the system works properly and realize ECG real-time detection and wireless transmission. The human-machine Interface which is developed by LabVIEW software is convenient to observe ECG waveform and set parameters. The system is portable, user-friendly and its structure is simple. The system meets the expected design requirements and the family needs of ECG monitor.
