Objective:To observe the clinical effect of Methylphenidate and combined with Chinese traditional medicine-Ling Jiao Gou Teng Tang plus(LJGT±) in the treatment of ADHD.Method:Eighty children with ADHD were divided randomly and no-blindly into the treatment group (group one) and the control groups (group two and three). Group one was treated with both Methylphenidate and LJGT±,the group two was treated with only Methylphenidate, and the group three was treated with only LJGT±.All the patients were treated with the same basic treatment.By observing the rating scale of SNAP-IV and the side effects,we evaluated the clinical effects of different treatments.Result:The effective rate of the rating scale of SNAP-IV in the group one was 96.67% and the rate of group two and three were 86.67% and 80.00%.The difference between the three groups was significantly (P<0.05).Conclusion:Combination therapy of Methylphenidate and LJGT±may reduce the ADHD average scores of the rating scale of SNAP-IV and side effects. The clinical total effective rate of group one was 96.67%,dramatically higher than that of the rest.Treating ADHD with Methylphenidate and LJGT±might be a more useful choice.
