Clinical Research On Therapy Of Supplementing Qi And Nourishing Yin And Dissipated Qi In Treating Hyperthyroidism Of Deficien Of Both Qi And Yin

Purpose:To discuss the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine about hyperthyroidism, using the therapy of supplementing qi, nourishing yin and dissipated Yingqi to treat hyperthyroidism with deficiency of both qi and yin symptoms. To observe the therapeutic efficacy of this way in treating hyperthyroidism with deficiency of both qi and yin symptoms by the indexes such as clinlcal symptom, thyroid hormone, correlative thyroid antibody, level of enlarged thyroid gland.Then evaluate its curative effect and safety, so as to guide its clinical application.Methods:A randomized, controlled trial was conducted. The patients of hyperthyroidism with deficiency of both qi and yin symptoms were randomly classified into two groups according to 1:1 pair matched.On the basic of normal treatment and western medicine, the patients of treated group were treated by Chinese medicine while the patients of controlled group were treated by MMI 5-10mg, three times one day. Observing for 3 month and four weeks made up of a course of treatment..The observed indexes included curative effect indexes, such as clinical symptom, thyroid hormone, correlative thyroid antibody, level of enlarged thyroid gland.. The complete data carries on statistics analysis by the SPSS17.0 statistics software.Results:The diagnosis and included hyperthyroidism patients with 58 cases.29 cases of treated group, while 29 cases of controlled group. Before treatment, the gender, age, course of disease of the two groups patients had no differeces.①Symptoms and signs improvement:two groups had improvement after treatment (P<0.01), and treated group had a significant improvement. The symptoms improvement of treated group was better than controlled group (P <0.05).2.decreasing heart rate:After treatment, the heart rate of two groups were lower(P <0.01 or P<0.05), the improvement of treated group was better than controlled group (P <0.05).3. adjusting thyroid hormone:After treatment, the TT3,TT4,FT3,FT4 of two groups were significantly lower (P＜0.01), the declines of FT3. FT4 of treated group were more than controlled group(P<0.05).4.adjusting correlative thyroid antibody:TRAb of the two groups were significantly lower (P<0.01), and the declines of treated group were more than controlled group(P<0.05)5.improving level of enlarged thyroid gland:The level of enlarged thyroid gland of two groups had certain improvement after treatment (P＜0.05).The improvement(fromⅠ°/Ⅱ°/impalpable)of treated group was better than controlled group (P <0.05).6.improving finger tremor:After treatment, finger tremor of two groups had improvement after treatment (P<0.05).In the matter of moderate finger tremor, The improvement of treated group was significantly better than controlled group (P＜0.05).7.safety index:the liver and kidney function tests of treated group were within the normal range.5 patients of controlled group had occurred WBC reducing (WBC<4.0×109/L), and it had returned to the normal range after expectant treatment.two groups had no other unhealthy response.Conclusion:Through the preliminary clinical study, the therapy of clearing heart-fire has sure curative effected in treating Graves disease with excessive fire in Heart and Liver symptoms. From the angle of western medicine, it can decrease heart rate, adjust thyroid hormone, correlative thyroid antibody, and improve level of enlarged thyroid gland and finger tremor.And, most important, be safe and effective.It is worth studying deeply and developing further.Remarkable results have been achieved by Xia Qin Zhi Zi Decoction that treating Graves disease with excessive fire in Heart and Liver symptoms.But because of my ability and conditions limited as a overseas student, there were small number of cases and simple observational items in this study. And further inestigations is required.
