Objective To discuss the relationship between the morphology of Circle of Willis and the prognosis of the patients with transient ischemic attack and carotid artery Stenosis. Methods This study do the retrospective analysis which based on 207 patients which hospitalization in Chaoyang hospital between June 2006 and November 2011,summarized the clinical characteristics, the morphology of Circle of Willis on MR angiography,14d prognosis. We deal with all tha data with the SPSS13.0 statistics analysis software. All the measurement data use mean±standard deviation(X±s),t-test is used for conparision, p< 0.05 is the standard of differences with statistics significance. Summarize the morphology characteristics of Circle of Willis,to assess the relationship between the morphology of Circle of Willis and the prognosis of the patients. Results 1. There have no significant difference in type of the circle of Willis between the extracranial guilty artery group and the intracranial guilty artery group.2. There have significant difference in absence of ACOA, absence of PCOA between the single carotid artery stenosis group and the bilateral carotid artery stenosis group, and there have no significant difference in hypoplastic of A1 segment, absence of A1, hypoplastic of P1 segment, absence of P1,FTP between the two groups.3. There have no significant difference in hypoplastic of Al segment, absence of ACOA, absence of PCOA, absence of A1, hypoplastic of P1 segment, absence of P1,FTP in the different narrow degree of caroid artery.4. The incidence of stroke after TIA have no significant difference in the different type of the circle of Willis.5. There have no significant differences in hypoplastic of A1 segment, absence of Al, absence of P1,absence of ACOA, absence of PCOA, hypoplastic of P1 segment, FTP in the stroke group and TIA group. Conclusions 1. The completeness of the circle of Willis in the extracranial guilty artery person higher than the intracranial guilty artery person.2.The current ACOA is the main type of collateral circulation in the single carotid artery stenosis people, and The current PCOA is the main type of collateral circulation the bilateral carotid artery stenosis people.3.The intact circle of Willis can reduce the risk of stroke after TIA with carotid artery StenosisAThe risk to become stroke is high in TIA patient with hypoplastic of A1 segment, absence of Al, absence of P1, absence of ACOA, absence of PCOA.5.MRA can show the circle of Willis sensitive and specific, can be used to assess the ability of compensation of the circle of Willis.
