| Background and ObjectiveIdiopathic panuveitis was defined to be unknown etiology and not be concluded in certain types of inflammation, which involving the choroid, retina, retinal vessels and vitreous body, accounts for about 40% in all uveitis patients.Idiopathic panuveitis was a complicated disease,of which blind rate is higer. The base treatment in clinic was using glucocorticoid, which have a certain therapeutic effect. But at present there were no specific treatment programs and effective drugs for the intractable idiopathic uveitis. In order to know well the clinical characteristics, treatment effects and side effects of the Cyclosporine treatment for uveitis, we summarized and analyzed the clinical data of 56 cases in the hospital which combined with cyclosporine treatment of refractory idiopathic panuveitis of patients to study.MethodsRetrospective analysed patients who treatment of refractory idiopathic panuveitis from January 2008 to January 2010 in our hospital inpatient and outpatient, consist of 56 patients (72 eyes). There were 31 patients males (39 eyes) and 25 females (33 eyes); aged from 6 years to 71 years, mean 43.52 years.Randomly divided them into two groups, the first group:16 males (19 eyes) and 13 females (15 eyes) only with glucocorticoid therapy; the second group:15 males (20 eyes),12 females (18 eyes), combined with cyclosporine treatment. Recording the vision, inflammation changing and the side effects of drug before and after treatment of patients, the results were statistically analysis to evaluate the therapeutic effect and toxicity.Statistical TreatmentThese datas of each section's Density Mean were analyzed by statistical software SPSS 17.0. Measurement deta using squared test, inspection comparison party for a= 0.05. Measuring material using t-test, inspection standards for a= 0.05. Results Both of the control group and the treatment group's curative effect and vision that before and after treatment were improved, and were statistically significant. It proves both of them were effective in clinic care. After treatment the vision of treatment group was better than the control group with a statistically significant, that demonstrats after joint cyclosporine element is better than pure using glucocorticoid therapy. There were no serious side effects to the body of cyclosporine. Compared side effects after treatment of the two groups with before treatment is elevatory, but they were all no statistical significance of each drug, and by relative treating there were no serious toxicity to body.ConclusionsFor stubborn idiopathic panuveitis patients, after excluding contraindications:1. The clinical effect of using cyclosporine joint glucocorticoid is better than only used aglucocorticoid;2. There were no serious side effects occurred by strictly monitoring of laboratoryexamination and timely preventive measures;3. It also provides clinical element basis that the more serious idiopathic panuveitis or other types of uveitis could use cyclosporine for the first time. |
