Purposes:Through observing the difference among the Basis Treatment Group, the Mecobalamin Treatment Group and the Buyang Huanwu Decoction Group on the short-term and the long-term efficacy, this thesis aims to evaluate the effects of traditional Chinese Medicines(Buyang Huanwu Decoction) on treating the residual nervous syndromes restained to windowing operation for decompression and discectomy on lumbar disc herniation cases. It also aims to dig deeper the mechanism of this Chinese Medcines, Buyang Huanwu Decoction.Subjects:Cases were chosen from the hospitalization patients of the Fuzhou General Hospital. The whole experiment lasted from October,2008 to October,2010. All patients met the surgical access standards since they were in strict accordance with lumbar disc herniation criteria for eligible cases. The 90 patients were randomly devided into three groups by the single-blind control method. They were the Basis Treatment Group (the Basis Group), the basis+mecobalamin group(the Mecobalamin Group), and the basis+Buyang Huanwu Decoction Group(the Buyang Huanwu Decoction Group). Continuing course of treatment lasted for 2 month. They were thoroughly observed after operation on the first day, the first week, the fourth week, the eighth week, the third month, and the half year in the follow-up time. The total observation time added up to half year. They were be evaluated by visual analogue scoring system (VAS) score and JOA score system for low back pain score. On the other side, comparisons were be made among the age and sex and the assessment score on the first day to observe the differences among each group.Results:1.There is no significant differences but comparability(p>0.05) on the comparison of equilibrium during the three groups on the age and sex and score assessed in the first day. Among the three groups, there is no significant differences in the VAS score (p>0.05),but there is significant differences in JOA score (p<0.05).,which were assessed in 1 week and the 4 weeks.2.The Mecobalamin Group and the Buyang Huanwu Decoction Group compared with the Basis Group:There is significant differences in the VAS score and JOA score(p<0.05) assessed in each observation time(from the first week to half a year), which were superior to the Basis Group. 3.Comparison made between Buyang Huanwu Decoction treatment group and the Mecobalamin Treatment Group:There is no significant differences in the VAS score and JOA score(p>0.05), assessed in the first week, the forth week and the eighth week. There is significant difference in the VAS score and JOA score(p<0.05) in the third month and half a year. Buyang Huanwu Decoction Group is superior to the Mecobalamin Group. Conclusions:Buyang Huanwu Decoction can improve the residual nervous syndromes of lumbar disc herniation obviously.
