Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of combined internal-external therapy of traditional Chinese medicine on children's Pneumonia with "phlegm-heat-obstructing-the-lung syndrome" objectively.Methods:90 cases of pneumonia with "phlegm-heat-obstructing-the-lung syndrome"were randomly divided into 3 groups.Besides the basic treatment of Chinese patent drug and antibiotics by intravenous injections, children in the internal therapy group were treated with TCM decoction according to syndrome; in the external therapy group, the patients were treated by external application, while the children in internal-external therapy group were treated by internal administration and external application. The course of therapy was 14 days for each group. The children's clinical symptoms were recorded at the 1,7,14 days of admission. To all these groups, the general effect and symptoms score of TCM were analyzed. Results:In these three groups, the score of clinical symptoms obviously decreased after treatrnent. On the 7th day, the score of clinical symptoms has significant difference among the three group.Internal-external therapy group was better than the other groups(P<0.05).The scores of phlegm-heat-obstructing-the-lung syndrome " after treatment on 14th day were of no differences among the three groups(P>0.05).On the 7th day, there was no dlifference among the three groups on the symptom in fever and X-ray(P>0.05),but significant difference in sputurn, cough, breathlessness and auscultation on the lung recovered(P<0.05).On the 7th day,the effective rates were 56.67% in internal therapy group,53.33% in external therapy and 86.67% in internal-external therapy group. There was significant dlifference among the three groups(P<0.05),which rneant clinical effect of internal-external therapy group was superior than the other groups, and on the 14th day, there was no significan difference among the three groups(P> 0.05).Conclusions:Combined internal-external therapy of TCM has marked clinical effect on children pneumonia(phlegm-heat-obstructing-the-lung syndrome).Acupoint applicat-ion is more convenient, worthy of clinical popularization. |
