PART I In Vitro Anticancer Activities of Different Extraction Parts from Salvia chinensis beth. Objective:To investigate in vitro anticancer activities of different extraction parts from Salvia chinensis beth.. Methods:The extraction from Salvia chinensis beth.with 95% ethanol and then from the ethanol extraction part in turn with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, trichloromethane and n-butanol was conducted. The inhibitory effects of these extraction parts on 5 human tumor lines were measured by MTT assay. Results:The trichloromethane extraction part and ethyl acetate extraction part from Salvia chinensis beth. have more effective inhibitory effects on 5 human tumor lines in vitro. Conclusion:The trichloromethane extraction part from Salvia chinensis beth. is the main anticancer active part in vitro.PARTⅡIsolation and Identification of Chemical Constituents of Antitumor Effected Extraction Parts from Salvia chinensis beth. Objective:To isolate the antitumor-active constituents from Salvia chinensis beth.. Methods:The effective extraction of Salvia chinensis beth. was separated by using several types of column chromtograrapys to obtain the compounds.Their structures were elucidate by sepectroscopic data, including 1H NMR,13C NMR. Results:As a result,4 compounds were isolated from the trichloromethane extraction part of Salvia chinensis beth..They were ursolic acid (A),β-sitosterol (B),daucosterol (C),vanilllin (D)PARTⅢIn Vitro Anticancer Activities of the Ursolic Acid Isoluted From Salvia chinensis beth. Objective:To investigate in vitro anticancer activities of ursolic acid isoluted from Salvia chinensis beth.. Methods:The extraction from Salvia chinensis beth.with 95% ethanol and then from the ethanol extraction part in turn with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, trichloromethane and n-butanol was conducted. The means of systematic solvent extraction, gradient elution, column chromatography and recrystallization were used to separate the trichloromethane extraction part from Salvia chinensis beth. The inhibitory effects of ursolic acid on 5 human tumor lines were measured by MTT assay. Results:The ursolic acid isoluted from Salvia chinensis beth. have more effective inhibitory effects on 5 human tumor lines in vitro. Conclusion:The ursolic acid is main anticancer effective component of ethanol extraction part and trichloromethane extraction part from Salvia chinensis beth. in vitro.
